About Us
Rocky Road Blog is the weekly ramblings of two car nuts, Ben and Jerry. We cover things that burn fossil fuels and even some things that don’t. Love our words? See a mistake? Have suggestions for what you’d like to see? We’d love to hear from you! Email us at contact@rockyroadblog.com
Jerry drives a 2006 Scion xB in Blue Onyx Pearl from the back seat of a city bus. Affectionately named Chuck after the great Chuck Norris, he lives with his girlfriend wife in Pasadena where he writes web software and drinks homebrew beer. He’s a total klutz, and couldn’t tell the difference between torx and allen to save his life. He loves a wide spectrum of cars, but has been bitten by the Minivan bug – a strange love of all things practical and unsexy.
Ben is a oddball car nut who is obsessed with practicality. He started out by reading his uncles Car & Driver magazines one day. Since then, his tastes have grown to include everything with at least four wheels, from sport compacts to diesel big rigs. He currently works in California’s Mojave Desert and drives a 2013 VW Passat TDI SE 6MT (“Ella”) and a 2000 Ford F-250 Lariat (“Dixie”). Since he drives over 30,000 miles a year through harsh and largely untraveled terrain, he spends a lot of time keeping his vehicles in tip top shape.
